About John Gilliam

I am a licensed Realtor® and highly qualified professional based in Tampa, Florida. Although Tampa is home, I grew up in an idyllic neighborhood in North Carolina, where kids played together outdoors all summer, were always welcomed in one another’s homes, and only had to be sure we all made it home for dinner together. Times have certainly changed, but the lessons and values learned from a family-oriented and engaged community continue to guide me to this day.

At the age of 16 I earned my Eagle Scout. Shortly after graduating from high school I joined the US Army as a Combat Medic and was later honorably discharged. After leaving the Army, I earned my BS in Computer Information Systems from Saint Leo University and an MBA from Florida Institute of Technology.

My wife and I live in downtown Tampa, and both enjoy all the cultural and outdoor opportunities the Gulf coast of Florida provides. I am particularly enamored with the abundance of crystal-clear springs that abound throughout Florida and all the outdoor activities they offer. Of equal interest, is Tampa’s cultural scene including the museums, activities at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts, the Tampa Theatre, and the ever evolving and entertaining Riverwalk. The many festivals throughout the year, the numerous parks for bike rides and walks, and a robust food and craft beer scene provide the backdrop for an active and full life for both she and I.

Through lessons learned and all my experiences, I find that whatever wisdom I have leads me to practice compassion and empathy, to continue to learn and evolve, and to always listen patiently. These are just a few of the traits that make me the ideal Realtor to guide you as you move through the process of buying or selling your home. My dedication, backed by integrity, and a desire to help you achieve your goals will ensure that the process will be successful, as well as fun and exciting.
